If the title is going to appear anywhere this year, this is the safest bet. Not to mention, every trailer shown for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf so far, as well as BioWare's Mass Effect 4, have been tied to this event. Waiting until later in the year, such as at the Game Awards in December, gives BioWare more time to whip up a proper demo. There are a couple of reasons why EA might want to show Dragon Age: Dreadwolf at The Game Awards. Dreadwolf is a big release, so it seems like EA would do more to generate buzz if it had something of that scale on the docket for next year. Of course, that doesn't mean that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf isn't going to show this year. In that case, EA might be better served to wait to reveal Dreadwolf until The 2023 Game Awards this December. If that's the case, it stands to reason that EA might be shooting for summer, as previously indicated by Grubb. This suggests the game won't release before April 2024, meaning it will miss the 2023 holiday season and the first quarter of 2024. There's also the fact that Dragon: Age Dreadwolf was conspicuously absent from EA's 2024 financial report. However, there's yet to be any indication that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be it.
It's hard to say how far along any of these games are, but it stands to reason that EA will want to show off at least one of them during the Summer Games fest. There's also Skate, an Iron Man game, Wild Hearts, a new Need for Speed, and the new NCAA College Football game announced in 2021. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may be out the door, but EA has a handful more of Star Wars games in the works. EA is a big company with a lot of projects underway. Unfortunately, the publisher hasn't said a peep about what it has planned.
Over 40 developers will participate in The Summer Games Fest, and Electronic Arts will be among them. The Summer Games fest starts at 12 PT/ 3 ET on June 8th.
